100% Post doc position for 1 year
We Offer
- A truly unique opportunity to receive hands on training in microneurography of nociceptors, a cutting edge electrophysiological technique of single nerve fiber recording in awake human mastered by only a handful of laboratories worldwide
- Work in an exceptional translational research setting, where state of the art single nerve fiber recordings are performed directly in patients with pain

- An inspiring and closely connected environment at Julius Maximilian University (JMU) Würzburg, integrating neuroscience and clinical pain medicine within the Clinical Research Unit CRU 5001 “Resolvepain”
Your Responsibilities
- Performance of microneurography of human nociceptors in combination with psychophysical experiments and assessment of autonomic nervous system function
- Use of specialized data analysis pipelines and rigorous statistical evaluation
- Presentation of research results at international conferences and active contribution to high quality, peer reviewed publications
Requirements
Your Profile
- PhD in neuroscience, medicine, psychology, biology, or a related discipline
- Solid background in excitable membrane physiology and electrophysiology
- Excellent manual skills and precision
- Strong expertise in data analysis, ideally with electrophysiological neuroscientific datasets
- Programming and statistical skills are an advantage
- Very good communication skills and excellent command of English; German language skills are desirable
- High intrinsic motivation, enthusiasm for mastering complex experimental techniques, and the ability to work independently and proactively within an interdisciplinary team
