Work Environment
This full-time position operates in an onsite setting within our Surgical Center, where you will work alongside surgeons, nursing staff, and other allied health professionals. You will enjoy a typical work schedule from Monday to Friday during regular business hours, although some evening or weekend shifts may be required to accommodate patient care. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed medical evaluations and pain assessments to accurately diagnose underlying causes of patients' conditions, taking into account their physical, psychological, and social environments.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that may incorporate various methods including pharmacological therapy, interventional procedures, and educational interventions aimed at effective pain management.
- Provide continuous support and care for patients with chronic pain, utilizing evidence-based practices to enhance their quality of life while minimizing pain intensity.
- Address acute pain situations promptly, employing strategies that prioritize patient comfort and promote a swift recovery.
- Prescribe and manage medications for pain relief while being vigilant about potential risks and benefits, ensuring effective treatment through ongoing monitoring of patient responses.
- Perform and supervise interventional procedures such as nerve blocks and epidural injections, ensuring that patients receive compassionate care during these treatments.
- Educate patients and their families on effective pain management solutions, self-care techniques, and lifestyle changes that empower them to take an active role in their health.
- Maintain meticulous and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR), documenting all patient interactions, assessments, and treatment plans to ensure continuity of care.
Patient Population / Client Focus
This role primarily focuses on patients dealing with both acute and chronic pain issues, including those recovering from surgical interventions or coping with long-term pain conditions. You will work closely with a diverse demographic, ranging from young adults to seniors, requiring adaptable communication skills that cater to different age groups and backgrounds.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant, with appropriate certification.
- Completion of a Physician Assistant program, ideally with specialization in Pain Management.
- Strong clinical skills, particularly in pain management methodologies.
- Excellent communication abilities, bolstered by a compassionate nature and a strong patient-centered focus.

Compensation and Benefits
